RICHMOND, Ky- Eastern Kentucky University linebacker Steven Crowder was chosen as the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday after registering 11 tackles, a sack and an interception in EKU’s near upset of Bowling Green on Saturday.

The 6-foot-2, 233-pound sophomore from Mount Olive, Alabama had seven solo tackles.  His interception early in the third quarter gave the ball to the Colonel offense at the BGSU 31 yard line and Eastern turned it into a game tying touchdown.  His sack on the opening possession of the game forced the Falcons to punt and the EKU offense marched down the field to take a 7-0 lead.

In three games this season, Crowder has 20 tackles, including two tackles for a loss, to go along with a sack and an interception.
