Georgetown Remains Undefeated with 121-58 Blowout Win

Troy Steward started 3-of-3 from three-point range as the first three shots in Georgetown College men’s basketball game against Miami University Middletown. The No. 4 Tigers (2-0) handed the Thunderhawks a 121-58 loss Tuesday at Davis-Reid Alumni Gym.

Steward finished with 31 points on 10-of-13 shooting, 4-of-5 from deep, with five assists and four rebounds. Chris Coffey chipped in with 23 points, 9-of-12 (1-of-2), and eight rebounds.

GC was nearly perfect from foul line, 28-of-29, and avoided fouling itself as MUM attempted just 12 free throws. The home team also forced 24 turnovers with 13 steals.

Seven of the eight Tigers to play reached double figures, the lone one who did not was injured during the game and did not play in the second half.

Murshid Randle (15), Eljay Cowherd (14), Dominique Reid (11), Malik Dow (11) and Brodricks Jones (10) round out the scoring for Georgetown.

Reid tallied a double-double with 10 rebounds, while Randle added nine.

The Tigers are back in action 7 pm Friday against Ohio Chillicothe.
