FUQUAY-VARINA, NC – For the first time in the Jamaal Jackson era, a player has earned a national weekly honor.

Senior guard Ditalion Battle (Cincinnati, OH/Shroder) was named the BOXTOROW National Player of the Week. He averaged 28 points, 6.5 rebounds and three steals, while shooting 48 percent from long range.

“Ditalion’s playing really well on the offensive end right now, and this is the right time of the season,” said Kentucky State head coach Jamaal Jackson. “He has even more in the tank, and I’m sure he’ll carry and elevate his current level of play into the postseason.”

A preseason all-SIAC honoree, Battle has earned the leagues weekly award twice this season.

Battle will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show FROM THE PRESS BOX TO PRESS ROW w/ Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country www.boxtorow.com/affiliate-stations as well as on SiriusXM Channel 142 on Saturday 9a ET/8a CT/6a PT.

He will be one of four seniors honored in a pregame ceremony as the Thorobreds host Miles 3 p.m. Saturday.
