RICHMOND, Ky. – Start times for Eastern Kentucky University’s five home football games were announced today.
The Colonels will begin the 2019 season at home against Valparaiso on Thursday, August 29. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
After playing three straight road games, EKU will be back at Roy Kidd Stadium on Sept. 28 to host Tennessee State at 6 p.m. That will be this year’s Hall of Fame Game and the Roy Kidd Statue Wall dedication.
The 2019 Homecoming Game against Tennessee-Martin on Oct. 5 will kick off at 3 p.m.
Eastern will host Austin Peay on Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. for Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day. The 1979 National Championship team will also be recognized at this game.
The final regular season home game is slated for Nov. 16 at 1 p.m. against Tennessee Tech. The final home game marks Senior Day and Veterans/Military Appreciation Day.
EKU ended the 2018 season with four straight wins and was in the conversation for a playoff spot. Eastern Kentucky finished 7-4 overall and third in the Ohio Valley Conference with a 5-2 mark. The Colonels will begin the 2019 season having won 10 of their last 16 games.

EKU will host special theme days during the upcoming football season that include fun and unique game day experiences for groups who purchase 15 tickets or more. August 28 will be Healthcare Appreciation Day. The Celebrate Agriculture Game is scheduled for Sept. 28. Fellowship Day will be on Oct. 5. Education Appreciation and Scout Day is set for Nov. 2. The final home game of 2019 will be Military Appreciation, Youth Sports and Band Day on Nov. 16.
