Nicholasville, Kentucky (May 8, 2019) – This past Saturday, at the 145th running of the Kentucky Derby, Barbasol Championship tournament director Bryan Pettigrew announced the formation of the event’s charitable arm, Caddie 127. The name connects a biblical connotation from James 1:27 “to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”

Just as caddies and their players support one another, so will Caddie 127 support philanthropic organizations that benefit and empower women and children. Caddie 127 has named All God’s Children, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Refuge for Women, and the Woodhill Community Center as their 2019 charitable partners.

“We are proud to partner with organizations here in the Commonwealth who are making a profound difference in the lives of others,” said Pettigrew. “Each of these five charities aligns with Caddie 127’s mission to serve and care for marginalized women and children in their distress. Caddie 127 is a Kentucky organization that believes women and children should never walk alone, and we intend to do something about it,” he added.

The 2019 Barbasol Championship will be played at Champions at Keene Trace July 18-21.
