EKU Softball Places Three on All-Region Team

RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team had three players named to the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Team.

Senior Destinee Lizzmore, sophomore Sammi Miller and senior Hannah Clark all earned all-region honors.

Lizzmore earned All-Mideast Region first team honors. She hit .328 on the year with 12 doubles, one triple, a team-best 16 home runs and 48 RBIs during her senior campaign. She became the first player in Eastern Kentucky softball history to hit for the cycle against Belmont University on May 2. Lizzmore ranks 34th in the country in home runs and 54th in the country in home runs per game.

Miller earned All-Midwest Region second team honors after having a team-high .391 batting average. She had 11 doubles, a team-best three triples, one home run and 26 RBIs. Miller ranked 91st in the country in batting average on the year. Miller was the fifth toughest person in the country to strikeout, with four on the year.

Clark was named to the All-Midwest Region third team during her senior season. Clark posted a .354 batting average with a team-best 13 doubles, 13 home runs and a team-high 55 RBIs. She became the school’s all-time home run leader with a two-run home run against Jacksonville State on March 24. Clark also became the school’s all-time RBI leader against SIU Edwardsville on April 12.
