EKU Signees Picked on Third Day of the MLB Draft

RICHMOND, Ky. – Two Eastern Kentucky University baseball signees were picked on the final day of the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft.

DJ Gladney was the first off the board on Wednesday. The third baseman out of Illiana Christian High School in Richton Park, Illinois was selected in the 16th round by the Chicago White Sox.

Gladney was the 18th third baseman taken in the draft.

Kendal Ewell was the second 2019 EKU commitment to go in the draft. The outfielder from Marist High School in Calumet City, Illinois was taken by the Colorado Rockies in the 40th round.

Ewell was the 198th outfielder selected in the draft.
