CINCINNATI, Ohio — Former EKU head football coach, Mark Elder, was named head coach at Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller on Thursday. It's his first job at the high school level.

Elder started his career as a graduate assistant in 2000 at Akron and continued as an assistant at several colleges. The Cincinnati native got his first head coaching job at Eastern Kentucky where he led the Colonels for four seasons. Elder was not offered a new contract at the end the 2019 season after leading EKU to back-to-back 7 win seasons.

Elder becomes the third head coach in three seasons at Moeller. It's a program that has won nine state football titles (2013, 2012, 1985, 1982, 1980, 1979, 1977, 1976, 1975). However the Crusaders have gone 21-31 since the 2015 season. Moeller was just 2-8 last season.
