LOUISVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — After not racing for 18 months, Monomoy Girl returned a winner Saturday at the reopened Churchill Downs, winning $85,000.
Monomoy Girl's a winner again, so where could we see her next? 🤔 "The goal would be to get her around two turns," with more reaction from @bradcoxracing here: https://t.co/xWWsflwTsS pic.twitter.com/ha599FisTA— Horse Racing Nation (@HR_Nation) May 16, 2020
This was Monomoy Girl's first race since November 3, 2018 when she won the Longines Breeders' Cup Distaff (G1) which was also at Churchill Downs.
Red Dane finished second and Miss Bigly finished third in the fourth race at Churchill Downs, the first time the historic racetrack held races since March due the coronavirus pandemic.
There were no fans in attendance to watch the races.
