The UK Football team is going to honor a fellow teammate and coach as the pair battle their own serious illnesses.
UK Head Football Coach, Mark Stoops made the announcement at his Thursday press conference ahead of Saturday’s game against Central Michigan. The bracelets read #JPon3 for Paschal and #SchlarmanStrong for coach. The helmet sticker has their initials, JP and JS to also honor the two.
Sophomore Defensive Lineman, Josh Paschal, was diagnosed with melanoma in his right foot in August. He’s undergoing treatment. And, Offensive Line Coach and former Wildcat player, John Schlarman, is also battling a serious illness and has been undergoing chemotherapy.
