LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky women’s soccer team returns to Southeastern Conference play on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. ET as they face the Florida Gators at The Bell.
The match will be televised live on the SEC Network+, ESPN+ and the ESPN app with Dave Baker (pxp) and former Kentucky All-American, Stuart Pope (color), on the call from Lexington.
Both teams are entering the match on losing streaks, with UK suffering back-to-back losses on the road this past weekend to Mizzou and Lipscomb. The Gators are 2-6-1 on the season, and have lost their last four matches – including their SEC opener on Sunday afternoon to Vanderbilt, 2-1.
Thursday night is a thunderstick giveaway, with fans through the gate receiving a free pair of UK soccer thundersticks. There will also be Kentucky soccer posters and schedule cards available for free, with a post-match autograph session featuring all players and coaches.
Miranda Jimenez scored the Wildcats’ lone goal of the weekend in the 40th minute at Lipscomb on Sunday night to tie the score at 1-1 going into the locker room. Jimenez, who is returning from concussion protocol, has scored two goals in this, her sophomore season.
Florida leads the all-time series with Kentucky 21-3-4. The Wildcats last beat the Gators in 2014 – which was UK’s last win in Lexington in the series. Last season, UF beat Kentucky 2-0 in the Sunshine State. The last time the Gators played in Lexington, they beat UK 2-1 in overtime.
