LEXINGTON, Ky-

UK#26 Benny Snell Jr., RB

On being 5-0 and what it means for the team …

“It feels amazing. I can’t even explain the feeling and how happy I am, how proud I am of the team, we’ve come a long way.”

 Student-Athletes

On Josh Allen’s performance …

“It’s amazing. It is amazing that I get to see and watch what he does. He is so great on the defensive side. He always tells me, ‘I’m going to match you.’ He outmatched me today.”

#34 Jordan Jones, LB

On Kash Daniel supporting from the locker room in the second half …

“He just wanted to make sure that we weren’t down because he wasn’t in. He wanted us to keep fighting and keep doing it. We did that today. We need Kash. He’s really the leader of the defense.”

On the team’s potential

“You guys still haven’t seen our best yet. You guys have seen some good parts of us but there are still a lot of things, like we’re going to go over on film and we’re going to get it cleaned up, and it’s going to make us even better.”

#87 C.J. Conrad, TE

On the hot start tonight…

“Yeah, we played well at the beginning. Just overall, was getting after their defensive line. Just doing what we do, and the second half we got away from it a little bit, but there’s going to be a lot of things we can learn from this.”

On how he thinks the offense can do better…

“I think tonight was a lack of communication. We had some missed assignments in the trenches, and I don’t think we brought our physicality, myself included, like we did for Mississippi State and Florida at least for the full 60 minutes. That’s something we’re going to get back into the film room and get a lot better in practice this week.”

On how it feels to be 5-0…

“It’s an amazing feeling. Especially because I feel like we haven’t played our best football yet. Defense is playing unbelievable, but offensively I feel like there is so much more out there for us. We’re going to get back to the film room, get back to practice. It’s an amazing feeling to be 5-0 and 3-0 in the SEC, but our best football is ahead of us.”

#8 Derrick Baity Jr., CB

On if he and Mike Edwards were fighting for the interception…

“No, I just came off my dude and went over to help Mike, and Mike just…I actually ran into the receiver. Whoever it was just ran up my lane and seen Mike going for the ball and Mike got the ball. I wasn’t ever going for the ball.”

On how good it was for the secondary to finally get some picks…

“It felt good to make an interception tonight because all week we just kept hearing about how skilled they were and that about them. I feel like we don’t get enough credit for what we’ve done this season. We haven’t let up a big pass until tonight. It was like a little lucky pass because Lonnie miss-read the ball. No one was giving us credit for what we did this season and we just heard all the hype about they got all the skill, this and that. We took advantage of it and we got the ball.”

On if it was true that there was no celebrating in the locker room even though they are 5-0…

“We celebrated. But, I feel like it wasn’t as usual because we didn’t play up to our standard. Coming out, we didn’t move the ball on offense, and we were on the field on defense for like eight minutes, ten minutes or something. That’s just not our standard. It was a little frustrating for the team, but as a team we got a team win so that’s all that matters at the end of the day. I’m sure it will be acknowledged to as during the week.”

#10 A.J. Rose, RB

On how it feels to be 5-0 …

“It feels great you know? I never been ranked in college before, I’m taking it all in now. It’s a blessing. We’re taking it day by day. Every week is a new week, and now we have Texas A&M.”

On how the offense can grow from this game …

“We can grow a lot. It is still a lot of plays out there that people haven’t seen yet. We’re keeping a lot of stuff in the bag, Coach Gran has a lot of tricks up his sleeve. As the season goes, you will see a lot of plays being made.”

#3 Terry Wilson, QB

On the difference between the first half and second half …

“Our defense was making plays all night. We just have to go out there and match their intensity and just go out there and execute offensively so we can help out defensive side out. We just need to go put some points in for them, and we just didn’t do that in the second half. We’ll get in here and watch film and correct it.”

On the number of penalties …

“That’s unacceptable on our part. It happened and its football, but we just have to get in here and correct it. It cost us a little bit, we were about to score and it pulled us back, but those are things we can’t allow for this offense.
