LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky offensive line has been named a member of the midseason honor roll for the Joe Moore Award, recognizing the Most Outstanding Offensive Line Unit in College Football, it was announced on Tuesday.

This season the Wildcats’ running game is averaging a 223.5 yards per game, good for third in the Southeastern Conference and 26th nationally midway through October. Junior running back Benny Snell Jr. continues to rewrite the record book and now sits third on UK’s all-time rushing list with 3,123 yards. This season, he has rushed for 699 yards and eight touchdowns in six games for 117.5 yards per game (ninth nationally). The Cats have twice had two 100-yard rushers in a single game, just one of just seven schools to accomplish that this season.

The UK offensive line is a deep and experienced group led by seniors Bunchy Stallings and George Asafo-Adjei. Both Stallings (twice) and Asafo-Adjei have earned SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors this season, and Stallings was named a midseason All-American by ESPN.com. Junior Logan Stenberg and sophomores Drake Jackson and E.J. Price have settled in as the Cats’ starters, while junior Mason Wolfe and sophomore Luke Fortner provide depth.

The Foundation for Teamwork has presented the unique award since 2015. It is named after Joe Moore, widely regarded as the best offensive line coach in college football history, and is the only major college football award to honor a unit. The award recognized the unit that best displays toughness, effort, teamwork, consistency, technique, and “finishing”. The voting committee is comprised of college football experts, especially people who played or coached the offensive line position, including all of the current offensive line coaches at the Division I/FBS level as well as former players, coaches, colleagues of Coach Moore and select media.
