The University of Kentucky Football team finished in the Top 15 for both final national rankings and they were knocking on the door of the Top 10.

The Wildcats were 11th in the Coaches Poll and rated 12th in the Associated Press final rankings. It’s the highest UK has finished in the AP since they were 15th in the 1951 season. They were 11th in 1949.

Kentucky was 10-3 this year and won the New Year’s Day Citrus Bowl by beating Penn State 27-24. The Wildcats will open next year on September 5th at home against Eastern Michigan.
