LEXINGTON, Ky. – With Southeastern Conference play looming at the end of the week the Kentucky baseball team will play host to SIU-Edwardsville and Western Kentucky in a pair of midweek games to cap an 11-game homestand.

On Tuesday, the Cats will take on SIU-Edwardsville before welcoming Western Kentucky on Wednesday. First pitch on both days is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET and each game will be aired live on SEC Network Plus via WatchESPN. Audio coverage will be available on 98.5 FM Lexington and the UK Sports Network via

The Wildcats (11-4) have won eight of the first nine games in Kentucky Proud Park, including two in walk-off fashion. Senior outfielder Ryan Shinn capped a series sweep of Middle Tennessee on Sunday by launching a two-run walk-off home run, the first for the Cats since Dorian Hairston’s shot knocked off No. 2 South Carolina in 2016.

During the three-game series against the Blue Raiders, UK pitchers were excellent and efficient, striking out 30 hitters while issuing just one unintentional walk. Starters Zack Thompson and Grant Macciocchi were outstanding in the first two games of the series, giving up a combined one run on five hits and striking out 16 in 13.1 innings. Sophomore right-hander Jimmy Ramsey punctuated his move from the rotation to the bullpen by earning a win and a save in the series.
