LEXINGTON, Ky- Kentucky assistant coach Tony Barbee is a finalist for the Georgia State head coaching job, this per ESPN.

Georgia State has been to the NCAA tournament the last two seasons, but head coach Ron Hunter left for the Tulane job.

Barbee, 47, has head coaching experience already, taking UTEP to the NCAA Tournament, before spending four seasons as Auburn’s head coach. He failed to produce a winning season at Auburn.

Boston Celtics assistant Micah Shrewsberry and NC Central head coach LeVelle Moton are the two other names in consideration to replace Hunter at Georgia State.
