LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kentucky track and field’s Abby Steiner was named Southeastern Conference Women’s Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Steiner won the 200m, was runner-up in the 100m and was on the winning 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams at the Tennessee Relays last weekend.
Her 200m time leads the SEC (under 4m/s) performance list and ranks second in the nation.
UK’s 4x100m time of 43.63 – with Steiner running the second leg – ranks sixth nationally. UK’s 4×4 – with Steiner again running the second leg – ranks fourth nationally.
