Former UK Pitcher, Zack Thompson, has signed his first MLB contract with the St. Louis Cardinals.

According to The Athletic, Thompson signed a three million dollar signing bonus with the team that drafted him 19th overall.
Thompson was 6-1 this season for the Wildcats in 14 starts with a 2.40 ERA, 130 strikeouts and just 34 walks in 90 innings of work. He is the highest drafted pitcher in UK history.
