LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Kentucky Football team reports to fall camp on the first day of August. That means the season opener is just a month away as Kentucky hosts Toledo in Kroger Field.
Wildcats Head Coach, Mark Stoops, and several members of his staff spoke to UK fans at the annual Lexington Kickoff Luncheon on Wednesday at the Woodford Reserve room inside the stadium.
Coach Stoops has a lot of excitement for the upcoming season after his teams historic 10 win season a year ago. Now he looks to build off of that success. "We're not interested in building one good team and one good season. We've been getting better every year," Stoops told the crowd. " I saw a statistic recently. I don't know how accurate it is but my first year we finished 7th in the SEC, 2nd year 6th, 3rd year 5th. You see where I'm going with that? Third, second. So, you know what's next? We got to go finish it by getting 1st in the SEC East and get to the SEC Championship."
Kentucky will hold media day on Friday where we'll get the chance to talk more to the coaches and players about the upcoming season.
