Thursday's severe storm threat is rising. A surging warm front and low pressure west will be the focal point for late day development. We'll end up mostly cloudy with highs well into the 60s thanks to a gusty south/southwest wind. Watch for a round of late afternoon, evening storms tracking in from out west. The Commonwealth is under an enhanced severe storm risk along I-65 west into western KY and a slight risk for much of the LEX 18 viewing area. Damaging wind, large hail, heavy rain and tornadoes are all on the table but strong wind shear will increase the tornado threat mainly over western Kentucky.
