It wasn't a full-bore Arctic blast for the Commonwealth... more of a quick, glancing midweek blow. But after a flat out frigid morning highs will stay below average and struggle to top out on either side of 40° Wednesday, even with plenty of afternoon sunshine. Thursday's mostly sunny and quiet with highs in the upper 40s to low 50s. Beyond that? Another round of dreary December weather with cold rain (sometimes mixed with snow) Friday into Saturday.
