As expected, the latest drought update reveals expanding & worsening conditions. Severe drought now blankets over half of the Commonwealth with a pocket of extreme drought taking root in eastern Kentucky. Lexington is up to 36 consecutive dry days, if we make it through Thursday's isolated shower chance (likely) we'll be tied for our longest run on record & could expand it to 38 days Saturday. Our first decent chance at rain since late August is inbound Sunday-Monday.
