Buckle up, it's going to be a wild meteorological ride over the next three day! We're in for a wet and windy Monday with rounds of rain ahead of a strong cold front. Highs will be balmy for December, in the low to mid 60s. Don't expect it to last. Colder air rushes in Tuesday and temperatures tumble from 40s in the morning to 30s later in the day. This will kick lingering showers over from rain to snow Tuesday afternoon/evening. Watch for minor to light accumulation in the Bluegrass (grass & elevated surfaces) over to a 1" to 3" band the farther into our southeastern mountain counties you go. Following that? Wicked cold! Lows will bottom out in the teens Wednesday morning and top out around & below freezing in the afternoon as the leading edge of an Arctic airmass noses into the Ohio Valley.
