Tuesday Highs
Tuesday’s Highs

We’re all heading back to work and school on Tuesday and we’ll be heading out into another muggy summer day. We’ll enjoy a wonderfully warm finish to the long holiday weekend with a fair sky tonight and lows in the lower 70’s.   Tuesday will be another day in The Muggies as highs head into the low 90’s and that will be under a partly to mostly sunny sky.

The big high responsible for our summer time warmth will be lingering through the week with a very slow decrease in temperatures.  Our highs will fall back into the middle and upper 80’s toward the end of the week.  Thunderstorm chances will gradually ramp up later in the week as well and they’ll be peaking toward the weekend.

The tropics are also active.  Tropical Storm Gordon formed over south Florida and is heading into the Gulf of Mexico.  At this point it will likely stay below hurricane strength, but it may be close as it comes into Louisiana or Mississippi over the next few days.  Florence is well out in the Atlantic, but the computer guidance the last few days is signaling a westward shift of the track which could put the East Coast into play
