Summer clamps down with authority this weekend as a sprawling heat ridge takes over! A heat wave is defined as a period of abnormally and uncomfortably hot and unusually humid weather typically lasting two or more days. Sometimes three or more days at or above 90° is also used as a threshold.
We’re taking a steamy shot at it this weekend into early next week. Highs will stay in the upper 80s to low 90s Friday through Tuesday. With elevated humidity it’ll be hard to stay cool- take it easy if you’re working outside. The heat index will push into the low to mid 90s during peak heating. Also watch for isolated pm showers & t-showers each afternoon.
