As we approach the beginning of meteorological spring on Monday, spring showers are getting a head start this weekend. A series of fronts and low pressures will combine to bring waves of rain, the heaviest being Saturday night and Sunday. A minor flood threat exists especially across southern and eastern Kentucky. Rainfall totals will be between 1 and 3 inches. Most of the rain will fall early Saturday morning and later Saturday night into Sunday. We may get to enjoy some brief sun Saturday afternoon with some mild temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s. A Flood Watch will go into effect 1 AM Sunday and last until 7 AM Monday. If you live in a flood-prone area, prepare for very high water or potential flooding.
