A Winter Storm Warning continues south of I-64 with Traveler's Advisory north from tonight and through the day on Thursday. Light snow begins this evening and will pick up in intensity late this evening and overnight. A broad area of 3 to 6 inches of snow is possible over central and eastern Kentucky by Thursday night. For Lexington, we're looking at more of a 3 to 4 inch snow. There will also be mixing in of sleet, freezing rain/drizzle and cold rain, especially in the southeast, although the freezing drizzle may occur in many places when it's not snowing. The icing from this storm will not be as severe as the earlier storms, so additional impacts should be limited.
Overall, this storm looks to be a tad weaker than its two predecessors. With that, there are still going to be impacts to travel late Wednesday night into the day on Thursday. We'll see a few drier hours Thursday morning, but freezing drizzle will still be possible. A final burst of snow should come through Thursday afternoon which could complicate the afternoon commute. We'll continue to track this on LEX 18 NEWS.
