We have enjoyed a beautiful Sunday across Central and Eastern Kentucky, with plenty of sunshine and just a few fair-weather clouds developing during the afternoon. Temperatures have climbed into the low to mid 80s, but with much lower humidity in place, it has felt noticeably more comfortable outside.

That pleasant weather will stick around for the first couple of days of the new workweek before rain chances return by the middle of the week.

A little taste of fall tonight

Skies will remain mostly clear tonight, allowing temperatures to cool quickly after sunset. Overnight lows will fall into the upper 50s and low 60s across much of the area, giving us a little taste of fall by early Monday morning.

With clear skies, calm winds and cooler temperatures, some patchy fog could also develop overnight into Monday morning, especially in the typical river valleys and areas north and west of I-64.

Beautiful weather continues Monday and Tuesday

High pressure remains in control through Tuesday, keeping our stretch of quiet and comfortable weather going.

Expect plenty of sunshine both Monday and Tuesday, with afternoon temperatures generally reaching the low to mid 80s. Dew points will remain in the 50s, keeping humidity levels comfortable as well.

Monday night into Tuesday morning will bring another cool start, with temperatures once again dropping into the upper 50s and low 60s.

Rain chances return Wednesday

Our weather pattern begins changing Wednesday as high pressure moves east and moisture starts returning to the region.

Temperatures will warm into the mid to upper 80s, with scattered showers and thunderstorms becoming possible Wednesday afternoon and evening. Rain chances will continue into Thursday as another disturbance moves through.

Another round of showers and storms will be possible as a cold front approaches Thursday evening. A few storms could become stronger, but at this time, widespread severe weather is not expected.

Drier weather for the weekend

Once the front moves through, drier air should begin filtering back into the region.

Temperatures will remain seasonable behind the front, generally in the mid to upper 80s. Right now, Saturday is shaping up to bring another pleasant and drier day across the area.
