NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — Jessamine County Coroner confirmed Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Corman died a natural death due to heart failure.

According to the coroner, nothing showed in toxicology and Corman had other internal organ issues with his liver and spleen.

Corman died at his home Sunday, May 22. According to a Kentucky State Police Trooper on the scene, he died of "natural causes" and they did not suspect foul play at the time.

KSP received a call around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 22 from the Jessamine County 911 Dispatch to respond to Corman's house. Police and the coroner arrived on scene. LEX 18 had a crew on scene.

In the days following Corman's death, colleagues remember Sheriff Corman and a prosecutor reflected on the work Corman did as sheriff.
