LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — There are five newcomers on the University of Kentucky Women's basketball roster - three transfers and two freshmen. Sierra Newton stopped by campus to get to know the newest Wildcats a little better!
ELSA VADFORS
Elsa Vadfors is a 6'5" freshman from Hudiksvall, Sweden, who's ready to learn and develop here at Kentucky!
KAELYN "KK" CARROLL
Kaelyn Carroll is a 6'3" freshman from Massachusetts, who's been a basketballer from baby days. Now, here in Kentucky blue, she's ready to use her versatility and sharp-shooting to help the team. She also loves a good romantic comedy movie in her free time!
ASIA BOONE
Asia Boone is a 5'8" transfer guard from Liberty University known for her shot-making ability! The junior, formerly known as "freshman phenom," looks to boost Kentucky's chance at a postseason run. Get to know AB8 as she embraces everything it means to be a Wildcat.
JOSIE GILVIN
Josie Gilvin is a Louisville native, literally born into a "Battle of the Bluegrass" family with her mom playing for the University of Louisville and her dad from Lexington. The 6'0" guard transferred from Western Kentucky with high energy and great shooting for her senior season.
TONIE MORGAN
The 5'9" Georgia Tech transfer went from playing against head coach Kenny Brooks while he was at Virginia Tech to playing under him. Tonie Morgan is a one-of-a-kind point guard ready to lead the Cats to victory this season!
Kentucky's first game of the season is Monday, November 3, against Morehead State at Memorial Coliseum. You can also watch on SEC Network+. The season opening tips off at 6:30 p.m.
