Sierra Newton joined the LEX 18 team as a Digital Content Producer in May 2021 and transitioned to BBN Tonight as an Associate Producer in August of 2022. Sierra is a Bluegrass native, born and raised in Frankfort. She graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2020 where she double-majored in journalism and electronic media & broadcasting.
During her time at NKU, Sierra served as the sports editor of The Northerner, NKU's student-led newspaper for two years. After graduation, Sierra wrote for the Cincinnati Enquirer as a high school sports score taker.
Sierra is no stranger to the LEX 18 newsroom, she interned in the news department in 2019 and is excited to officially join the team! In her free time, Sierra enjoys taking care of her fur baby, Ladybug, and watching sporting events.
