The No. 6 Kentucky men's basketball team dropped its first conference game of the season after an 82-69 loss to Georgia Tuesday night in Athens.
It was a night riddled with foul trouble for the Wildcats, as four players finished the game with four fouls.
Georgia was 29-38 from the free throw line compared to Kentucky's 15-19.
The Bulldogs started to stretch their lead to end the half, going into the locker room with a 47-34 lead.
The Wildcats would trim the deficit to 5 pts with just over 14 minutes to play, but never got closer than that mark.
Lamont Butler had a game high 20 pts, Brandon Garrison had 13 pts and 5 reb while picking up additional minutes with Amari Williams in foul trouble throughout, and Otega Oweh finished with 12 pts and 7 reb.
The Bulldogs were led by freshman Asa Newell with 17 pts and 7 reb. Bleu Cain finished with 15 pts and 8 reb, and Silas Demary Jr. finished with 14 pts and 4 reb.
Kentucky will pick up SEC action on the road this Saturday when it travels to face Mississippi St. at 8:30 p.m.
