Before the start of the gymnastics season, Kentucky gymnastics head coach Tim Garrison sat down with BBN Tonight anchor Maggie Davis. When she asked him about his athletes who were poised for a breakout season, he pointed to one of his sophomores: Ryan Noonan.
"She was in, she was out [of the lineups] last year. This year, she solidified her spots in vault and bars, and she's a big participant in those two events."
Noonan was certainly big for the Cats last Friday night, when UK took a road trip to the plains, knocked off No. 12 Auburn, and recorded a season-high team score for the third-consecutive week. She competed in the two events Coach Garrison told us she'd solidified and scored a career-best 9.9 on the vault.
Now, Davis is talking with Noonan about UK's first SEC road win in two years, how she's been able to elevate her game this season, and what's enabling the Wildcats to keep improving week after week.
