MOREHEAD, Ky. — Morehead State's Johni Broome has been named the OVC Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season. He's the first since Ricky Minard in 2000-01 to earn at least four weekly awards for the league's top freshman honor.

In a nationally televised game against Eastern Illinois, the 6'10" forward hit 9-of-11 shot to finish with 20 points and was one rebound away from a fourth double-double in the Eagles victory. He backed that up by scoring 10 points, pulling down five rebounds and getting a career-high three steals in a win over Southeast Missouri State.

Broome leads the team with 7 rebounds per game and is tied in scoring with 11 per outing.

Broome and the Eagles take their five-game winning streak into a Thursday home game with Southeast Missouri at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.
