EKU falls on the road at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Eastern Kentucky University’s football team lost 56-10 at West Virginia University on Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium.

McKinney went 9-for-17 with 131 passing yards and one touchdown. Dixon had a team-best three receptions for 53 yards and one score. Booth rushed for 45 yards on seven carries. Kaleb Lundy posted a team-best and career-high nine tackles on the game. Antonio Smith finished with five tackles, including two for a loss.

Eastern posted 206 total yards of offense on the day.

Doege was 19-for-25 with 288 yards and three touchdowns for the Mountaineers. Two WVU running backs – Alec Sinkfield and Brown finished with 123 yards and two touchdowns each.

Former Boyle Co. standout Reese Smith finished the game with four receptions for 32 yards in his first collegiate game with West Virginia.

EKU’s 2020 season continues at The Citadel on Sept. 26. Kickoff in Charleston, South Carolina is scheduled for 1 p.m.
