EKU women lose first game in the OVC 69-51 at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — The Eastern Kentucky women's basketball team dropped its first game in OVC play with a road loss against Austin Peay on Saturday 69-51.

Amerah Steele led the Colonels with 12 while Bria Bass added nine points.

The Governors took control early in the first quarter with an 11-2 lead and never looked back. EKU was able to get it as close to 50-40 with 8:17 to play.

EKU drops to 4-4 overall, 2-1 in the OVC.

Eastern Kentucky returns to McBrayer Arena next Thursday when Jacksonville State comes to Richmond. Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET.
