RICHMOND, Ky. — Eastern Kentucky's Michael Moreno has been named the OVC Freshman of the Week for the first time in his career.
The former Scott County star averaged 18 poins and 9 rebounds per game last week for the Colonels in a win over Eastern Illinois and a loss to SIU Edwardsville. He had a career-high 17 against Eastern Illinois while pulling down seven rebounds. He was also a perfect 4-of-4 from three point range. He then beat his career-high two nights later to score 18 against SIU Edwardsville.
Moreno and the Colonels will play the first of two rivalry games against Morehead State on Thursday night when they're on the road for a 7 p.m. tip off.
