WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Georgetown College opened its Spring football schedule with a 27-20 win on the road against the University of the Cumberlands.

The Tigers fell behind 20-10 in the third quarter before rallying to score 17 unanswered points. It took a quarterback keeper from Hunter Krause with just over six minutes left in the game to give GC the lead. Then, the defense had to make one final stop after the Patriots had a 4th and goal from the five yard line. A sack by Chad Holleran ended the threat.

Krause was 14-of-22 for 298 yards and two touchdown tosses and a rushing touchdown as the winning score. Darius Barbour caught eight of those passes for 136 yards and a score.

Georgetown starts the season 1-0 and will be back on the field next Friday when they have the home-opener against Lindsey Wilson at 3:30. The Blue Raiders (1-0) opened the season with a 49-0 win over University of Pikeville.
