LEXINGTON, Ky. — Michael Jefferson must feel like he can't miss right now. He scored his second highest output in a week as he poured in 36 in a Transylvania win over Mount St. Joseph 100-84.
Scoring that much is impressive but how he did it was even more so. Jefferson was 13-15 from the field which included hitting all 3 of his three pointers he took in the game. The junior from Berea was also 7-8 from the free throw line and added four assists.
Jefferson earned his first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference player of the week honor after he scored 37 last week against Hanover.
With the win on Wednesday, the Pioneers improved to 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the HCAC at the halfway point of the league schedule. Transy will host Anderson on Saturday at 5:00 pm in the Clive Beck Center. The Pioneers won the first meeting back on December 7th 85-80 on the road.
