RICHMOND, Ky. — New EKU head football coach Walt Wells is ready to get his first spring practices started with the Colonels and it all leads up to the Spring Game on April 18.
Wells was hired after spending two seasons at Kentucky and he's a former Colonels assistant. He'll get his first look at the team on March 12 when they hold their first practice. He has nine starters on offense and seven starters on defense who return from the 2019 team that won seven games.
The final spring practice is April 16 and then they'll hold the annual Maroon-White game at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 18 at Roy Kidd Stadium. Admission is free.
The Colonels open the season on September 5 at home against Western Carolina.
