LEXINGTON, Ky. — A couple of Lexington natives have been named male Co-golfer's of the week in the Ohio Valley Conference.

Evan Davis, who went to Lexington Christian, is a junior at Belmont University. He took home his second career individual title (and first outright), winning the Pinetree Intercollegiate held at the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Georgia. The junior took a two-shot lead into the final round and fired a round of 68 to win the event by eight shots. Davis tallied scores of 68-66-68 to finish at 202 (-14) in the field of 59 competitors. In his final round he posted four birdies, one eagle and just two bogeys. For the tournament, he led the field in birdies and eagles and ranked third in par three scoring. His 54-hole score of 202 ranks fifth all-time in the Division I era, while his -14 score in relation to par is the second lowest in Belmont's Division I era. His performance helped Belmont to a runner-up finish in the 11-team field. Davis, who earned his second Golfer of the Week award of the year, ranks first in the OVC in stroke average (69.8).

Cooper Collins, who went to Lexington Catholic, is a junior at Morehead State. Collins claimed his second career medalist victory, and first outright title, taking first place at the Musketeer Classic hosted by Xavier at the Maketewah Country Club in Cincinnati. The sophomore had rounds of 67-71-71 to finish at 209 (-4) to top the field of 87 by one shot. Collins helped Morehead State finish third in a field of 13, marking the team's fifth top-four finish of the fall season (which tied the school record established by the 1999-2000 team). Collins currently ranks third in the OVC in stroke average (70.4).
