Three Colonels make All-OVC preseason team

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Three EKU offensive players were named to the All-OVC preseason team in a vote of by the league’s head football coaches and communications directors. Running back Alonzo Booth and offensive linemen Tucker Schroeder and Graham Ashkettle earned the votes.

Booth is a redshirt junior who finished the 2019 season with 673 rushing yards on 140 carries and 14 rushing touchdowns. The touchdowns led the OVC and put him 16th in the nation in scores on the ground. Booth was also chosen to the 2019 Academic All-District® Team.

The two offensive linemen helped EKU rush for 2,468 yards in 2019, the second-most in the past 17 seasons by an Eastern Kentucky team. Schroeder, a redshirt junior, started all 12 games for the Colonels last year at left guard. He's now started 23 in a row. Ashkettle, a redshirt junior from Crestwood, Ky. started 10 games at right tackle. He was also a second team Academic All-America® this past season.
