RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — Eastern Kentucky University reported on Thursday that three student-athletes and three staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

EKU Vice President and Director of Athletics Matt Roan said in the announcement, "The health and well-being of our students, faculty and staff are our primary concern. We value our entire campus community's privacy and will limit information that could further identify any individual."

The individuals who tested positive will now be isolated and the athletics department is amending schedules for the voluntary workouts. The university is working with the Madison County Health Department to do contact tracing to notify individuals who may have come in contact with the affected individuals.
