Toyota Bluegrass and Central Bank Ashland Stakes to run July 11

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Keeneland Stakes announced its meet condition book for the five day meet from July 8-12. It includes the Toyota Bluegrass Stakes and Central Bank Ashand Stakes on July 11.

In all, Keeneland will offer average daily purses of $948,000, including Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Funds, for a total of $4,742,000.

There are 10 graded stakes races in all with the Bluegrass and Ashland still being run as prep races for the Kentucky Derby, which was moved to September 5.

In its release, Keeneland Vice President of Racing and Sales Bob Elliston, said he was thankful to have so many great stakes races like the track would normally have in the spring. “We thank our horsemen for their strong support of Keeneland and our racing program," said Elliston.

The other major stakes races at Keeneland include the $350,000 Coolmore Jenny Wiley (G1) and $250,000 Madison (G1). The $300,000 Maker’s Mark Mile (G1) is scheduled for Friday, July 10.
