LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Local ice cream shop, Crank and Boom is once again creating a special flavor for a good cause. This week's flavor is called "NTI: NON-TRADITIONAL ICE CREAM."

In past weeks, Crank and Boom has released four flavors honoring Governor Andy Beshear, ASL translator, Virginia Moore and Kenneth Mansfield. Those flavors are: "Candy Beshear," "Beers with Beshear," "Virginia S'Moore," "Next MudSLIDE KENNETH," "Y'all Can't BEE Doin' That," "Dr. MOOSE STACK."

This week's flavor honors teachers, students and parents who are working together to keep kids learning during this time through NTI, or non-traditional instruction.

The NTI: NON-TRADITIONAL ICE CREAM flavor is described as a funfetti flavored ice cream. The Crank and Boom team says to think of birthday cake flavored ice cream and colorful rainbow sprinkles.

$2 from the sale of each pint will benefit Arbor Youth Services, whose mission is to end youth homelessness by giving a safe and supportive environment for children who have suffered abuse or abandonment.

Pre-ordering for this flavor will end Thursday, May 7 at 11:59 p.m.
