Megan Manning, Anchor

Megan Mannering

Anchor/Reporter

Megan Mannering is an evening anchor and reporter for LEX 18. You can catch her weeknights at 5, 6 and 7 p.m., anchoring alongside Larry Smith and Chief Meteorologist Bill Meck. She also co-hosts Hot Mic, LEX 18’s original podcast, with anchor Evelyn Schultz.

Megan joined LEX 18 in 2022 as a weekend anchor, bringing her love of storytelling from Missoula, Montana, where she spent the first three years of her career covering wildfires, grizzly encounters, and all things Big Sky Country.

Since arriving in the Bluegrass, Megan has reported on everything from devastating floods and tornadoes to uplifting community stories featured in LEX 18’s Spotlight series. In her weekly Field Notes segment, she highlights Kentucky’s agriculture community — a beat close to her heart, as she grew up raising sheep and participating in 4-H.

In 2024, Megan traveled to Washington, D.C., during National Police Week to cover tributes honoring fallen officers, including Scott County Deputy Caleb Conley. Over the past three years, she has also accompanied veterans to the nation’s capital through Honor Flight Kentucky, sharing their stories of sacrifice and homecoming.

A proud native of Cass County, Indiana, Megan graduated from DePauw University in 2019 with degrees in communication and Spanish. When she’s not in the newsroom, she volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and enjoys podcasts, yard work, reality TV binges and time with her tuxedo cat, Chevy — a nod to the Lexington neighborhood.
