Molly Demrow is a proud University of Kentucky graduate, earning her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in English in December 2024. Just two weeks after crossing the stage, she joined LEX 18 as a News Producer in January 2025. By August, she transitioned into her dream role as a Multimedia Journalist.
A Liberty, Kentucky native, Molly grew up watching LEX 18 and always imagined herself telling the stories of her home state. That dream started taking shape during the summer of 2024, when she interned with the station. The experience allowed her to strengthen her reporting skills, learn the fast pace of a real newsroom and form connections that helped launch her career back where it all began.
Molly’s love for journalism started in high school, when she joined “WREB News” at Casey County High School as a sophomore. There, she discovered her passion for public speaking, reporting and anchoring, eventually becoming the on-air anchor for the “Rebel Report” her senior year. Once she realized broadcasting could be her career, she never looked back.
During her time at UK, Molly anchored, reported and produced for the campus shows “Wildcat News” and “Big Blue Banter.” She also gained radio experience reporting for WRFL 88.1 FM, and worked behind the scenes with the SEC ESPN Network on televised UK sports broadcasts.
Today, Molly is grateful every day to be sharing the stories of the people and places she loves most. You can connect with her on Facebook at @mollydemrownews, or send story ideas to molly.demrow@wlex.tv
